Dr Emmanouil Psathas , FEBVS

Vascular Surgeon

  • Dr. Emmanouil (Manos) Psathas, born in Athens, Greece in 1977, is an experienced vascular and endovascular surgeon based in Geneva, Switzerland.

    He obtained his medical degree in 2002 from the University of Ioannina Medical School (Greece), followed by a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Endovascular Techniques from the University of Athens in 2011.

    In 2013, he completed his residency in Vascular Surgery at the University of Athens “Laikon” Hospital. During his training, he undertook short clinical fellowships in vascular surgery at the Pitié‑Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris, France, and at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) in Pennsylvania, USA, supported by the European Society for Vascular Surgery.

    He subsequently moved to Paris, where he worked as a consultant vascular surgeon in high‑volume centers until late 2016.

    Dr. Psathas obtained certification from the European Board of Vascular Surgery (FEBVS) in 2016 and, in the same year, completed a University Diploma in Complex Aortic Procedures at the University of Lille, France.

    In April 2017, he relocated with his family to Geneva, Switzerland. From 2017 to 2021, he served as a consultant vascular surgeon at the Cantonal Hospital of Fribourg.

    In 2021, he earned his Swiss federal specialist diploma (FMH) in vascular surgery and subsequently served as Chief of the Vascular Surgery Department, Director of the Postgraduate Training Program, and Associate Lecturer at the University of Fribourg Medical School until the end of 2025.

    He obtained his doctorate degree from the University of Fribourg Medical School in 2024 and, in 2026, successfully completed the one‑year Postgraduate Certificate Program of Leadership in Surgery at Harvard University, Boston, MA.

    In June 2026, he established his private practice as an independent vascular surgeon in Geneva, Switzerland.

    He is married and father of one child.
