Dr Emmanouil Psathas , FEBVS

Vascular Surgeon

  • Dr Emmanouil (Manos) Psathas is an FMH‑certified vascular and endovascular surgeon with extensive experience in the management of arterial and venous diseases, including minimally invasive and advanced endovascular procedures.

    Trained in Greece, France, the United States and Switzerland, he has worked in several high‑volume vascular centres. He graduated from the University of Ioannina Medical School in 2002, completed a Master’s degree in Endovascular Techniques in 2011, and finalised his vascular surgery residency in 2013, with additional clinical training at Pitié‑Salpêtrière Hospital (Paris) and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), supported by the European Society for Vascular Surgery.

    From 2013 to 2016, he served as a vascular surgery consultant in major Parisian centres, managing the full spectrum of vascular conditions, including emergencies, endovascular interventions and open surgery.

    After relocating to Switzerland in 2017, he worked as Consultant and later Head of the Vascular Surgery unit at the Cantonal Hospital of Fribourg, overseeing the management of complex arterial disease, aneurysms, occlusive pathology, vascular access and advanced venous disorders. He also served as Director of Postgraduate Training (ISFM) and Associate Lecturer at the University of Fribourg.

    He holds the FMH diploma in vascular surgery (2021), the European Board of Vascular Surgery certification (FEBVS, 2016), a doctoral degree in medicine (University of Fribourg, 2024) and a postgraduate Certificate in Surgical Leadership from Harvard Medical School (2026).

    Since June 2026, he has been practicing independently in Geneva, providing specialised, evidence‑based vascular care with a strong focus on patient safety, quality standards and continuity of care.

    He is married and the father of one child.
